BMW Car Club of America Club Racing and Yokohama Tire forge a multi-year partnership
Greenville, SC – April 2, 2018
BMW Car Club of America Club Racing (BMW CCA Club Racing) announced today that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with Yokohama Tire that includes the sponsorship of the Yokohama Showdown.
The Yokohama Showdown will be a series within a series, whereby racers already in BMW CCA Club Racing may compete for the Yokohama Showdown Championship in addition to the already established BMW CCA Club Racing National and Regional championships.
In 2018 there will be 2 Yokohama Showdown Championship weekend events, one on the east coast (Watkins Glen International, Oct 5-7, 2018) and the other on the west coast (Thunderhill Raceway Park November 10-11,2018).
BMW CCA Club Racers must qualify for the Yokohama Showdown by participating in 3 or more BMW CCA Club Racing events preceding the Yokohama Showdown event.
The Yokohama Showdown events will be held during regular BMW CCA Club Racing weekends whereby all racers from BMW CCA Club Racing will be eligible to participate, but those who have qualified for the Yokohama Showdown will be competing for 2 different prizes at the same time: The Yokohama Showdown championship and the BMW CCA Club Racing National and Regional points championships.
The Yokohama Showdown Prizes, will be awarded at the end of the Yokohama Showdown Weekends. The top three finishers for each Yokohama Showdown will receive tire certificates which can be used to purchase any Yokohama product, whether track tires or street car tires.
In addition, Yokohama will be partnering with two BMW CCA Club racing teams to test their streetable competition tire technology.
