The 2021 BMW CCA Club Racing Rookie of the Year Award is sponsored by Tony Salloum’s VAC Motorsports and is presented to the Club Racing rookie BMW racer earning the most points for the year and is awarded to Cory Deeds. Cory is an April 2021 BimmerWorld Club Race School graduate who campaigned in B Modified in his 2020 M2CS. Cory gathered up 115 National event points on the way gaining this RoY recognition.
The 2021 Glenn Lucas Memorial Award, presented to the Club Racer who most represents the Spirit of Club Racing both on and off the track is awarded to Tom Tice. Tom has raced with BMW CCA Club Racing since 2005, holds a low 5-digit CCA membership number and is fully dedicated to our series. He raced his Spec E36 car in the first ever Spec E36 class race in 2007. Later Tom spearheaded the effort to make wholesale changes to improve the Spec E36 class including bringing in Toyo as a contingency sponsor. Today he leads the Spec E36 rules committee and continues to campaign his 1993 BMW 325is. More recently, Tom has led Club Racing’s effort to expand the competitiveness of our program by championing our new for 2022 Power to Weight (PWR) classes. Tom’s ongoing efforts to help improve and advance our racing program made his selection by the National Stewards as the 2021 Glen Lucas Memorial Award winner an easy decision.
Our BMW CCA Club Racing annual Driver awards are both accompanied by a $1000 monetary recognition.
Congratulations to Tom and Corey!
