The 2024 BMW CCA Club Racing Rookie of the Year Award is sponsored by Tony Salloum’s VAC Motorsports and is presented to the Club Racing rookie BMW racer earning the most points for the year. For the 2024 season our Rookie of the Year is Emrich Stellar. Emrich is a March 2024 BimmerWorld Club Race School graduate who campaigned in PWR3 in his 1998 M3. Emrich gathered up 225 National event points on the way to gaining this RoY recognition.
The 2024 Glenn Lucas Memorial Award, presented to the Club Racer who most represents the Spirit of Club Racing both on and off the track is awarded to Mike Hinkley. Mike holds BMW CCA Club Racing license #1034, having raced with Club Racing for 20 years. And as most know, Mike also serves as Club Racing’s Ironman, filling the roles of Competition Steward, Technical Steward, Race Chair for Tarheel and Race School Event Chair, also for the Tarheel Chapter (know those last two roles require prep and delivery of 4 events every season – each one is a heavy lift).
We’d have to go out and recruit 4 people to replace Mike – his knowledge and experience are hugely appreciated by both Club Racing and the Tarheel chapter, and his contributions to BMW CCA made his selection by the National Stewards as the 2024 Glen Lucas Memorial Award winner an easy decision.
Our BMW CCA Club Racing Annual Driver awards are both accompanied by $1000 monetary recognition to each of the winners.
Congratulations to Emrich and Mike!
